Denis Šarvari of the NTC Upstream Laboratory won first place in the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Production and Processing, organized by the Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad.

Denis participated with the co-authors Azat Kilmamatov and Miloš Tripković in the "Petroleum Refining and Production" section with a poster on "Improvement of Stabilization Technology of Weakly Consolidated Collector".

This award, on the one hand, is a confirmation that we can successfully participate in important conferences in the oil and petrochemical industry, and on the other hand, it is a challenge to increase the presence of our young specialists at conferences, in the writing of scientific papers and similar activities – said the awarded Denis.

His colleague Miloš, who also mentors Denis on this project, added that the award is the result of five years of systemic work based on research, laboratory testing, and field work.

Cooperation with faculties, as a strategic imperative of our company, enables the exchange and synergy of knowledge. The Head of the Upstream Laboratory Azat Kilmamatov states why this connection is important to us.

Industry's collaboration with faculties has been a long-standing trend, and it has repeatedly proven its own effectiveness. The Faculty of Technology in Novi Sad represents a potentially promising partner for further cooperation. We are currently working on developing this cooperation through activities such as student visits to NTC or participation in conferences. In addition, students from the Faculty of Technology had internships in NTC
– says Kilmamatov.

The International Conference on Advanced Production and Processing brings together experts from industry, scientists, and young researchers from our country, as well as from the region and Europe. This is the second time that within this conference, the Department of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering of the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad organizes a section dedicated to Petroleum Refining and Production. In addition to colleagues from other universities in Serbia and the region, the professors and researchers of the Department of Petroleum Chemistry and Petrochemical Synthesis of the Lobachevsky University in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as the Russian State University of Oil and Gas I. M. Gubkin from Moscow.

Prof Dragan Govedarica PhD from the Faculty of Technology participated in the conference and held a lecture "Educational and Scientific Methods in the Oil and Gas Industry", which was prepared together with Prof Alexander Knyazev PhD, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the University of Lobachevsky and Prof Dmitry Grishin PhD, Head of the Department of Petroleum Chemistry and Petrochemical Synthesis of the Faculty of Chemistry from Nizhny Novgorod.

I am pleased to say that colleagues from NIS have shown great interest in participating in the activities of the conference. In addition to my colleagues from the Science and Technology Centre, who have prepared several papers, I would like to emphasize the willingness of Leonid Stulov, Director of the Science and Technology Centre, and Azat Kilmamatov, Head of the Upstream Laboratory, to present the results of the latest research of this renowned institution together with their associates. I would also like to emphasize the professional oral lectures given by colleagues from the Refining Block to the conference participants. This is a lecture by colleagues Svetozar Eremić and Dusan Rašković on the topic "Operating Management System (OMS) for Refinery Operations". In addition, a lecture was held by Igor Stanković, Technical Director of HIP Petrohemija, on the topic of "Opportunities for Development of the Petrochemical Industry in Serbia"
– Professor Govedarica emphasizes.

He also notes the importance of the company's Energy of Knowledge programme, thanks to which activities such as scholarships to the best students of Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering, organization of professional visits and internships, guest lectures by experts from our company, joint research, and the like are realized.
