NTC at the renowned conference on innovations in geophysics

What are the trends in the field of shallow geophysics and what are the new technologies in geophysical research, were the main topics of the Conference "Near Surface Geoscience 022" (NSG022), which last week in Belgrade gathered about 450 lovers of geophysics and related sciences, and was organized by of the European Association of Geophysicists and Engineers (EAGE).

EAGE is a leading world organization that gathers scientists and engineers from the fields of geology, geophysics, petroleum engineering and related disciplines, which is the profile of employees in the Science and Technology Center (NTC) of our company.
NTC was the main sponsor of the event and on that occasion presented 3D models of engineering projects, methods of conducting refraction tests in the field, equipment for geoelectrical and seismic tests, virtual reality and a comprehensive offer of its activities.

Among the 200 experts who presented their work, there were also our colleagues Marko Vanić and Mladen Blagojević who gave a presentation on the topic "Reducing geological uncertainties in complex geological setting with rock physics and seismic inversion", co-authored by Olivera Popov and Pavel Emelianov.

Marko Vanić, who is also the vice-president of the organizing committee of the conference, points out that for the development of an individual it is necessary to follow world trends in industry and science and to participate in conferences.

NTC's participation in this conference and its role as the main sponsor of the conference, shows NTC's commitment to growth and development on a global level. One of the important future tasks is to strengthen the cooperation between NTC and EAGE through joint projects and activities that will contribute to the connection of NTC with related organizations in the world, the development of employee competences and the development of business within already existing and opening of new markets - says Marko .

His colleague Mladen Blagojević shares his opinion.

Familiarity with the progress and application of surface geophysical methods that are not focused on oil and gas research gave me the opportunity to recognize the wider potential of geophysics in other spheres of research and solving various geological-technical challenges - Mladen points out.

Colleague Dejan Mirković, as a master engineer of geodesy and geoinformatics with great interests in innovative technologies, automation and machine learning, presented virtual reality to the conference visitors, thanks to which the work of colleagues was facilitated, who could see the plant without going to its physical location.

Participation in the conference brought me new acquaintances, a broader picture of seeing the direction in which companies from the surrounding area and Europe are going, but also what are the new trends in designing as well as challenges. There is an expression that it is not the best who survive in the market, but those who adapt to changes the fastest. Thanks to the participation in the conference, I came up with several ideas where and how we can concretely implement technology, I saw the practical application of technology, but also new opportunities for business - notes Dejan.

Vlado Stevanović, Nikola Đanković and Ivan Grbović, from the Department of Seismics, say that their participation in the conference was very useful, because they had the opportunity to see in which direction the development of geophysical methods in near-surface research is moving.

We made contacts with a view to potential future cooperation, and we were also able to exchange experiences with people engaged in similar types of work, who come from different countries and universities. The program of works that were presented was of a wide range and some of the works that I accompanied were of very high quality - said Nikola, concluding that the development of the professional staff also develops the company.
