The director of the Scientific and Technical Center Leonid Stulov and the acting director of the joint-stock company for the transportation of oil through oil and product pipelines Transnafta Bogdan Kuzmanovic signed a memorandum on commercial and technical cooperation.

STC has over 60 years of experience in designing oil and gas processing and transportation facilities. The STC also has an accredited Downstream laboratory, which provides a wide range of services to analyze the characteristics of oil and petroleum products and assess the quality of fuels and lubricants.

Mr. Kuzmanovic noted that the Scientific and Technological Center is the market leader when it comes to the services necessary for the development of Transnafta.

We noted the competence and experience of our partners, which is extremely important for the development of cooperation in the construction of oil and product pipelines. We know the STC as a reliable partner from our experience working with its Downstream laboratory. It provided us with fuel quality analysis services, so I am more than optimistic about further cooperation,” Kuzmanovic said.

Director of the STC Leonid Stulov noted the wide range of services provided by the STC, and pointed to a number of past and ongoing international projects.

Initially, we provided services only to our parent company NIS as part of the efforts to increase oil production and refining, but for four years now we have been successfully cooperating with external partners. Providing services to market participants is our strategic target. The STC has performed well in a number of European projects to assess and monitor carbon dioxide volumes to monetize gas from methane-rich fields,” Stulov said, noting also that the STC is constantly working on developing employees and introducing new technologies.

Currently, the staff of the STC consists of 400 employees, including ten PhDs. In addition to the qualifications of the staff, modern equipment, professionalism and innovation, the STC attaches particular importance to the exchange of knowledge and work with data, seeing this as a driver of further development. That is why the STC cooperates with numerous scientific and educational institutions in Serbia and the world, including the universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, as well as with large international companies, including Schlumberger, Halliburton and Paradigm.

The Science and Technology Center has two laboratories. The Upstream laboratory studies core, fluids and rocks in order to evaluate oil and gas reserves, and the Downstream laboratory provides services to assess product quality throughout the process of oil production and refining.

The meeting dedicated to discussing further plans and projects within the framework of cooperation was attended on the Transnafta’s side by the Director's Advisor for Warehousing Slobodan Radisic, Warehousing Executive Director Milan Anusjak and Systems Support Director Dejan Polanets. Participants on the STC side were Natasha Badrlitsa, Head of the Design Center and Chief Engineer Brankica Pavlovic, Head of the Planning and Control Service Tomislav Rusic, and Government Relations Expert Radenko Kosanic.
