We Win the Best Digital Project Award at the Gazprom Group Scientific and Technical Conference

There were 162 participants from 17 subsidiaries with 144 papers at the final, i.e., 12th, Gazprom Group Scientific and Technical Conference and our company was represented by eight of our fellow colleagues with seven papers.

The work of Tanja Micić Ponjiger, Lead Research and Development Specialist at the STC, and Marina Prodanović, Junior Oil and Gas Production Engineer at the Exploration and Production was awarded as the Best Digital Project in the Business Support section.

This has been yet another final round of the Conference and another award as validation of quality of digital projects at NIS. This year I had an opportunity to work on the application of machine learning in production and we had excellent results thanks to the synergy with the Production Management Centre (PMC),
Tanja commented on the conference results.

She pointed out that creating a clear and concise form was the biggest challenge during the competition.

When you work on a project with a team for almost a year, you start taking a lot of information for granted. On the other hand, the people at the competition see the project for the very first time and there are many unfamiliar things that need to be addressed in a very short time. I think that Marina and I have succeeded in that and the result is here. I owe the deepest gratitude to my mentor Sergei Basov, who helped us to bring the form and structure of our work to perfection. Our machine learning model changes measurements by automatic measuring instruments to a certain extent and supplements them, in the first place. I am also grateful to my fellow colleagues from the Strategic Procurement of Materials and Equipment Sector, who helped us with updated information on economic effects of the project. Last but not least, I want to thank my coworkers from Office 71 and my manager Mikhail Naugolnov for their day-to-day support and collegiality,
Tanja said also expressing gratitude to her fellow colleagues from PMC and STC for process data.

Her colleague Marina added that the award is the validation of the fact that all the work that they have and will continue to put in has not been in wane. In addition, she hopes that after their project is implemented, the use of virtual flow meters will become an integral and a routine part of a technology engineer’s job.

I’m really glad that I had an opportunity to present our project at an event such as the Gazprom Group Scientific and Technical Conference together with my companion Tanja, whose experience has considerably facilitated both the preparations and the presentation of a potential solution to a problem faced not only in our country but also at a global level, which could be of great importance to our business,
said Marina, who participated at the Conference for the first time and is more than happy with the success achieved.

The Exploration and Production congratulate the awardees and thank all the participants: Denis Šarvari, Mirjana Simeunović, Dejan Mirković, Dušan Prošić, Nikola Stojanović, Miroslav Šarić, Marina Prodanović and Tanja Micić Ponjiger, as well as their mentors and managers, for setting an example for their fellow colleagues and other young specialists and motivating them to be innovators in their respective fields, share new ideas and participate in science conferences.
